During these troubling times we need to care for one another. We need to stop all wars so that together we are able to fight as one. So it is extremely important that we share, care and be kind, and while doing that we need to be at a safe distance. All of us need to do something for one another, even if it’s something small. What I did was help my family cook and clean. Now that I made tortillas we don’t have to go to the store to get some. So now there is one more pack of tortillas left on the store shelf and a family that really needs them can get them. What I want to take from this paragraph is to do something that can benefit everyone. Even if it’s the smallest thing, just do something that will not only benefit you, but everyone else around you and the people you care about. Maybe even people that you don’t know.

For the past two weeks we have been learning algebra at home. Our teacher assigned us assignments on Khan Academy for the next two weeks. In those weeks we had to take notes on subject such as the history of algebra, introduction to variables, and linear equations on both sides and etc. We are required to take notes on videos and articles that we did so I ended up writing about 16 pages full of notes.During these whole two week we have been working on algebra 1 equations such as 1/7-3(3/7n-2/7) and z+(z+6). When I was working on unit one I learned the real name of algebra and it was really long. The name was Al-kitab al-mukhtasar fi hisab al-aabr wa'l-muqasala. Anyway, In unit one I was able to do all I did (for the first part) was combine like terms and simplify the equations. So I was able to complete it without a challenge.
When I went onto unit two, that was a whole different story. We did equations that had more than one variable. The equations were like 5x-3<12 and 4x+1>25, 12y+d=-19y+t. Those were the difficult ones. The easy ones were 7(y-8)=7y+42. When I took the test I kept getting a bad score. So then I went back and I saw what I did wrong so I corrected it and I took the test again and I got a 100%. So I went to take the unit test and I got 100% on that too. With all of this knowledge in my head I think I am able to go on to unit 3.
In Art class we started on a unit that worked on perspective drawing and we needed to make a video showcasing what we did in the class.
This semester I am part of a computer science class and a few days ago we just finished making a game on a website on scratch. Scratch is a website where you are able to code your own game or you can play other people’s games. At the beginning of the semester we started to code and we were told to make a walk cycle. The walk cycle is where we make a character (or in a scratch a sprite) and we would have to make it walk onto multiple backgrounds. It was really simple all we had to do was make it so that when the dog walked to the end of the backdrop and it will change. If you are interested to see it here is the link: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/359797340
A week later we started working on a game. Our objective was to inform the person that was playing the game about viruses and diseases. My game is you trying to fight off these diseases with a cure that you have and you can change how fast it goes. I am still trying to finish the game but if you want to check it out here the link: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/363493440 In math class, we are in a unit and we are learning about sequences. I was gone for a week so I was in the pit the moment I started. I had no clue what were geometric sequences nor arithmetic. I was so confused. The next day we started taking notes on this stuff and after a while, I started to get the hang of but I still had questions, such as what was the difference between geometric and arithmetic. I also didn't know what the common difference was and the common ratio. But like I stated before we started taking notes and I asked questions. I did all I could so that I was able to catch up with everyone and understand what I was learning. Now thinking about it more I feel like I should have gone to the teachers and asked for clarification. Later on, I finally was able to understand everything. During class, we were given a packet that had worksheets in it and helped me so much because it had many different problems and it helped me understand the subject a lot more. Some questions were "Determine whether the sequences are arithmetic or geometric.", and "Use the recursive formula to complete it." I also learned that subscript notation was very important in this because if you just wrote "AN" that would mean something else and it wouldn't make sense.During art class, we were assigned to make a poster of a quote that we chose. I chose a quote that said “Don’t go through life, grow through life”. That quote was from Eric Butterworth. Before I started working on the poster I did a sketch of the quote and then I added a plant that is inside a pot because I thought the perfect way to portray this is by drawing a growing plant. The reason I chose the quote was because it stuck out to me. I really liked the quote because I could just imagine someone giving advice to someone else when they are going through tough times. The person that made this quote was Eric Butterworth (which I have stated before) and he was an author and he had about 16 best-selling books such as “Unity” and “New Thought Movement”. He was born on September 12, 1916 and passed away in April 17, 2003 I changed a few things from the sketch that I did. I changed the pile of dirt into a pot and I made the plant a little bit bigger so that it can fit the poster better. Next time I am doing something like this I will try to add more detail and more organized. My metaphor for my tessellation is "Love comes in all shapes and sizes". This is my metaphor because when different people come together they make something beautiful. The transformation I used was rotation because the peddles rotate in the center of the rose. In the rose, I made the color more darker when it gets deeper into the rose. It goes from a light red to a dark red. I have also used the cross hatch technique on the sides of the picture.
So I have never done sewing and I don’t have any history with it until we started doing it a few weeks ago. When I was sewing, I didn’t even know what I was doing. I was very new to this so I was confused, but then my teachers started to demonstrate it and I started to get the hang of it. Before I started sewing, I chose five stitches that were dark but at the same time it gave out a bright color. This is what me and my teammates, who are Julian Aguiniga, Daryan Matson, and Jeden Chase have worked on for the past week or so. We all brought our stitches together and we made them into a small quilt, and then we started to play bingo.
There was a family that was called Cardoso. Everybody in that family has small feet, small hands, and small bodies. My name is Omero Cardoso and I'm part of this short family. My mom is 5'4", my dad is 5'5" and I'm just 5'. None of us can reach the top shelf of the drawer. I have to climb on top of the counter and get the stuff that we needed to cook. That's how small my family is. My name means hostage in Greek. It means a desert with two people. It is sour. It is as white as snow. It's my father's name and now it’s mine. We both love to play soccer and eat seafood. In America, they say my name as O-mar-o or Omar. But my mom calls me a procrastinator like a dog trying to eat while a squirrel is running. I want to change my name to something more athletic a name that suits me better. Something like David or Philippe. My house is small. It has a large yard, in my house, there is a small television. There are no trees around so it is so hot that sometimes it suffocates. The windows are big, but we never open them. I feel very comfortable in my house, my house has 2 bathrooms, 3 rooms. I like it because it's always at peace and it's always quiet. On Saturdays, I play soccer. When I play soccer, I carry a backpack that I have with me which has, soccer shoes, goalkeeper gloves, and a bottle of water. If something goes wrong, for example, when I had injured my ankle, I couldn't play. I like to be a goalkeeper when it rains because it is very easy to dive for the ball. What I like most about soccer is when I am the person who throws a free-kick.
